Men’s Relationship Coaching Program: Six-Week Course Overview
Theme: Self-Accountability as the Foundation of Healthy Relationships
This six-week coaching program is designed to empower men to build and sustain meaningful relationships by focusing on self-accountability. Participants will learn practical tools to navigate their emotions, take responsibility for their actions, and enhance their interpersonal skills.
Week 1: Introduction to Self-Accountability in Relationships
Objective: Understand the role of accountability in personal and relational growth.
What is self-accountability, and why is it crucial in relationships?
Shifting from blame to responsibility: The power of ownership.
The connection between self-awareness and accountability.
Self-reflection exercise: Identifying past relational patterns and behaviors.
Group discussion: Defining personal values and commitments in relationships.
Week 2: Emotional Awareness and Regulation
Objective: Develop emotional intelligence to improve self-control and empathy.
Understanding emotional triggers and their impact on relationships.
Techniques for regulating emotions in high-pressure situations.
The link between accountability and emotional maturity.
Guided mindfulness exercises to increase emotional awareness.
Partnered role-play: Responding to conflict with accountability and calmness.
Week 3: Communicating with Honesty and Integrity
Objective: Cultivate open and accountable communication skills.
The importance of vulnerability in building trust.
Owning your words: Speaking with intention and clarity.
Listening as an act of accountability.
Practice "I" statements for effective conflict resolution.
Real-life scenario workshops: Addressing difficult conversations.
Week 4: Accountability for Past Actions
Objective: Reflect on and take responsibility for past mistakes.
How unresolved issues affect current relationships.
Apologizing authentically: Taking responsibility without excuses.
Forgiving yourself and others as part of growth.
Letter writing: Apologizing to yourself or someone from your past.
Group sharing (optional): Stories of past accountability breakthroughs.
Week 5: Setting and Maintaining Healthy Boundaries
Objective: Use accountability to define and protect personal boundaries.
What boundaries are and why they matter.
Recognizing when boundaries are being crossed.
Holding yourself accountable for respecting others' boundaries.
Boundary mapping: Identifying areas where boundaries need reinforcement.
Role-play: Practicing boundary-setting conversations.
Week 6: Creating a Relationship Accountability Plan
Objective: Develop a long-term strategy for continued self-accountability in relationships.
Building habits for self-accountability.
How to measure progress in personal and relational growth.
Supporting others in their accountability journey.
Create a personalized Relationship Accountability Action Plan.
Final group discussion: Sharing key insights and commitments moving forward.
